I was arrested in Suffolk County for a DWI. Will there be points on my license?
Yes. If you are convicted of any DWI, which includes the lower charge of driving while impaired by alcohol or drigs, (11) points will be assessed to your license by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles. (11) points is the threshold for any potential suspension by the DMV, and critically, this is separate and apart from any possible other suspension related to your DWI conviction in court.
