Suffolk County First District Court, also known as the Cohalan Court Complex, is a court located at 400 Carlton Avenue in Central Islip, New York. It serves as a court of general jurisdiction for Suffolk County, and hears both civil and criminal cases.
The court complex is named after James D. Cohalan, who was a prominent lawyer and politician in Suffolk County. The court complex includes several buildings, including the main criminal courthouse, the Family Court, Supreme Court and the Jury Building, and the County Clerk's Building.
